Glitter Love

We’ve had enough days in a row that require jeans and long sleeves that I am officially declaring it “fall weather time.” Yahoo! Two quick and easy fall decor crafts were on my to do list. One was an Uppercase Living expression and the other was a Martha inspired glittered pumpkins project.

The expressions are meant for your walls and we have a couple in our home already. I wanted to be able to re-use this one so I placed it on a painted canvas- very simple. The “GIVE” is chocolate brown and the “Thanks” is a shiny copper. Uppercase Living expressions are great because they are inexpensive and the vinyl peels right off without leaving a sticky residue behind.

The Martha Stewart brand glitter is just awesome. I used her glittering glue to cover three fake pumpkins and the results were even better than I had imagined. The photo doesn’t show how sparkly they are and how nice the color is. One of our favorite comedians, Demetri Martin, has a joke saying that “glitter is the herpes of craft supplies.” So true! It just doesn’t go away.

Hi there~
I stumbled across your blog and have to say that I really like it! The crafts and sewing projects that you have created are incredible (to say the least). Oh and by the way, I am an Uppercase Living Demonstrator and was just wondering if you are too? The way I found your blog was because I was doing a google search for uppercase living expressions on canvas. I was trying to see if the expressions really do stick to the painted canvas. Your picture pretty much proves that it does! And it looks amazing, too! Do you mind telling me what kind of paint you used? I want to make sure I don’t botch up my expression by getting the wrong kind of paint! Oh, and did you let it “cure” for a while before you applied it?
Thanks for any help you may offer!
S.P.
love that Demetri Martin analogy!
your house is looking so festive and those glitter covered pumpkins have been on my to do list for quite a while. I might just have to go out and purchase some supplies to make them : )
Thank you so much for the instructions of how you did your canvas! I really appreciate that! How did you order them? Do you know someone that sells UL expressions? And if you ever change your mind about becoming a Demonstrator for UL just let me know!
Hi –
I am ordering an UL expression and want it to be moveable. You are the only person I could find that put one on an artist canvas. Would you mind sharing how you did that?
Thanks!
Hi! I love the canvas! I am in the middle of trying to be crafty with a few UL expressions myself. I am having a hard time with the canvas though. Can you help? I didn’t realize I needed to paint it first. Can you provide the directions?
THanks!!!

hi, I recently was excited to put my UCL words on a painters canvas and my letters won’t stick to the canvas.
I bought the canvas already stapled to a frame at Hobby Lobby. I then painted the canvas in colors that went well with my lettering. My paint was acrylic paint.
Is there something I did wrong or what can you suggest?
Help! I am new to UCL and have been wasting hours online trying to figure out how to put my UCL words/ decals on a painters canvas.
I too bought the canvas already stapled to a frame at Hobby Lobby. I was assuming I could use acrylic paint on the canvas for my background color behind the decal?
I can”t find any information on this technique! Do you mind telling me what kind of paint you used and how you complete the process?
Thanks for any help or instructions you may offer!
Could you please e-mail me at oasismeg@aol.com
Thank you. Thank you so much!
