Hello!

What a delightful surprise to learn that you are a middle school teacher! Me, too! Right now I am at home with my little boy, so I am not working at school (for a couple more years), but I am a teacher at heart, no matter where I am.

Anyway, I was drawn to your bags and quilts, etc.--they are gorgeous! I am chomping at the bit to buy a new sewing machine, but since I'm not working, funds are a little low... so I was wondering whether you find all the fancy stitches to be useful on your machine? How do you do most of the quilting on your quilts--is it free motion? I'm a bit of a beginner at quilting, but so eager to try some new things. Anyway, I know that you are busy with school going full tilt boogie, but if you'd like to reply to me, I would really enjoy hearing what you'd recommend. (My current machine is from the cold war era--a workhorse, but not sophisticated enough for fancy stitches, free motion, and probably more cool stuff I don't know how to do yet.)

Thanks for posting your beautiful, inspiring work!
Best,
